Now is the Time to Invest in Land- Here’s Why…
BY BOB PEARSON
In my last blog, I discussed that the cost of most consumer items we use are going up and fast. Much of the stuff we buy at Walmart or Target are made overseas (China). These items will see a large increase in prices in 2021.
Those container ships coming in from overseas are full. But, the containers have to be shipped back and 4 out of 5 containers are being shipped back empty. It used to cost $1,000 to ship an empty container back to China. This year, there is a shortage of containers. Those same containers now cost $10,000 to ship back empty to China. Someone must pay for this increase in transportation costs and that will be us. Inflation is coming fast folks!
Here at Blue Skies Land, our costs of buying land for our inventory, has doubled in one year.
Today, I will cover some myths of buying land.
Myth 1: Buying land is pointless
Not true. It is a good inflation hedge. Have a plan for your land. Do you plan on using it as a weekend get away, or eventually build a home on it, or live on it while you build your future home? Have a plan and goal in mind when you purchase.
Myth 2: You must be rich to invest in land
There are many creative ways to invest in land. Here at Blue Skies Land, we offer low down payments and easy monthly payments so anyone can buy land.
Myth 3: You can do whatever you want with your land
Be sure to check with the County before you do any building on your land. There are zoning and planning laws you must abide by.
Myth 4: You can easily get a mortgage to finance your land
Banks won’t loan on vacant land. But we got your back. We will finance the purchase of your land. Buy here, pay here. Everyone qualifies.
Myth 5: Only buy land close to home
We provide pictures of each property and describe the plusses and minuses of each property. You can count on us to find you the right property and give you an honest description of the land you are going to buy.
Myth 6: Investing in land is straightforward
Does the property have road access?
Is it off the grid?
What are the zoning restrictions?
Can you live on the land before you build?
We are here to help you navigate the ins and outs of buying your new property.
Be safe,
